WHY DO BEESWAX CANDLES DEVELOP A WHITE POWDERY FILM?

The white powder that develops on beeswax candles is called bloom. It only appears on candles made with pure beeswax. If you prefer to remove the white bloom, you can gently use low heat from a hair dryer, a cloth...or your hand.However, since our candles are made with pure beeswax, the bloom will return in a few days (or a few weeks). It's just the nature of beeswax, and one way to be sure the candle contains pure beeswax.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR PACKAGING MATERIALS?

We have a wonderful partnership with a family-owned box company to manufacture our boxes. They were custom-designed for Pellar Fox, and have passed extensive drop testing. The Box Material is guaranteed to come from sustainably managed forests. The tissue paper we wrap our beeswax candles in, is acid-free and printed with soy ink. Every time we place an order for our tissue paper, a tree is planted to contribute to reforestation in New York State.

CAN YOU FILL CUSTOM ORDERS (SUCH AS A WEDDING)?

Yes, we can! Beeswax candles offer a natural, toxin-free option for creating a warm, inviting ambiance for your wedding celebration. Please note: Production times may vary, due to the handcrafted nature of our products, but are typically 7-10 days for a custom order, we will provide you with a production timeline with your estimate.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU ADD TO YOUR BEESWAX?

We add a small amount of organic coconut oil to our container candles for a smooth, creamy finish. When we do offer scented candles, the ingredients are carefully curated and formulated without soy, parabens, dyes, petroleum, or phthalates. We want you to feel good about your beeswax candle experience!

I'VE HEARD THAT PURE BEESWAX CANDLES HELP CLEAN THE AIR. IS THAT TRUE?

Yes, it is! A pure beeswax candle is a beautiful light source...that helps clean the air! Similar to a Himalayan Salt Lamp, pure beeswax candles release negative ions that bond to the positively-charged ions polluting the air. The result is cleaner air! Your candle has effectively helped remove common allergens like dander and dust. Yay!

CAN I RECYCLE THE GLASS VESSEL MY CANDLE CAME IN?

You sure can! Pellar Fox recognizes the importance of recycling glass. We purchase our glassware from an American company that focuses on being eco-friendly and environmentally safe. Not only can you recycle the glass, but you can reuse it! It's a great vessel for a succulent or a small bouquet of flowers.

WHY DID THE BEESWAX CRACK AFTER I PUT THE CANDLE OUT?

This doesn't always happen, but it's normal behavior for beeswax candles, especially if the room is cold. Beeswax shrinks as it cools, which will sometimes cause it to crack. We choose to avoid using additives, so this may happen from time to time. If your beeswax candle has cracked after you put it out, simply trim the wick and light it again as usual. It won't affect the performance, and the crack will fill in with the newly melted beeswax.

WHAT IS CANDLE HUGGING?

We recommend candle hugging for all of our beeswax pillars. This is a technique that helps the pillar maintain a consistent flame and consume all of the available beeswax. After you've extinguished the flame and the candle is still slightly warm, gently press the sides towards the center. Be careful not to press too far inward, or the wick may accidentally drown during the next burn.

WHY ARE YOUR TEALIGHTS SOLD WITHOUT CUPS?

We thought about this carefully before making this decision. In the end, we decided to make our tealights cupless and sustainable. They are meant to be used in your own heat safe tealight holder. Discarded tealight candle casings typically end up in landfills where they can remain for up to 1000 years. This is not something we wanted to contribute to.

WHY DON'T YOU USE ESSENTIAL OILS?

The number one reason is Pet Safety. Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts. While they do have therapeutic properties, not all of them are meant to be combusted. Burning a candle with essential oils can release fumes causing respiratory difficulties for cats, dogs and other pets. This can lead to irritation of their eyes, nose, and throat, and can cause coughing, sneezing and breathing difficulties.

We want you to enjoy your beeswax candle experience! However, if you would like to request a refund (for a reason other than damage during the carrier's shipping process) please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order for refund approval. Refunds are accepted on a case-by-case basis, and are accepted for unused products only. Please note: The buyer will be asked to return the items tr us, and is responsible for shipping costs. We do not do exchanges at this time.
